Job Description and Responsibilities
- Conducting risk assessments and identifying security vulnerabilities.
- Developing and implementing security policies, procedures, and controls.
- Configuring and monitoring security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
- Investigating security incidents and coordinating incident response efforts.
- Providing guidance and training to staff on security best practices.
- Keeping abreast of emerging threats and security technologies.
- Participating in security audits and compliance assessments.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Security Engineer or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices.
- Experience with security tools and technologies (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, VPN).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+).
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Experience with penetration testing and ethical hacking.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Knowledge of cloud security principles.
- Scripting or programming skills.
